You’re on your way

We hold regular assessment sessions in London, Brighton, Manchester, New York and mainland Europe for applicants who have passed the initial telephone screening. These sessions are designed to find out whether you are suitable for the FDM Academy Programme and ultimately, a career as an IT Consultant.

Assessments and Interviews

One of our Academy Representatives will begin by giving a presentation about FDM and the Academy Programme. This will give you a good idea of whether the programme is suitable for you, and you will get an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session.

Interviews and Team Exercises

We will ask you to complete a short logic and written test, and also a team exercise where you will be assessed on your communication, team working and organisational abilities. Following this there will be a one-on-one interview, which will give you the chance to explain why you believe you are suited to a career in IT, and demonstrate your strengths. We will be looking for candidates who have strong communication, team-working and interpersonal skills as well as a dedicated work ethic. Most importantly, successful candidates will be ambitious, determined and able to adapt to any working environment.

Individual Assessment

In the afternoon we will be assessing your technical skills and business knowledge. This part of the process is dependent on which training stream you are applying for and which country you will be training in. Some applicants will go through code exercises, and may also be asked to bring in some code, which one of our trainers will review. Others may be asked to deliver a presentation or bring examples of projects completed at university or college. You will be informed when you book your session which option is required for your assessment, and so will have sufficient time to prepare.

The assessments take place in one of our offices, which will enable you to view the technical training centre, and the facilities that are available to successful candidates.

Sessions start promptly so please be punctual. We cannot cater for late attendees. If you can’t attend your booked session, please let us know via phone or email at least 24 hours beforehand. FDM is under no obligation to reschedule any cancellations. Candidates are also expected to wear smart attire at all times.
