Women in IT

The lack of a strong female workforce is a crisis that the IT industry has been facing for many years and currently only 16% of all IT job seekers are women.  FDM is dedicated to recruiting more female graduates and aims to support its female employees to progress in a male-dominated industry.

FDM’s Commitment to Women in IT

As the UK’s largest IT graduate employer, boasting a female majority across its management team, FDM Group is committed to encouraging more women to pursue a career in IT.

FDM Group recently demonstrated its commitment to gender equality by signing the UKRC CEO Charter.

Female Champions

FDM Female Champions act as role models to women, both internally and externally, and are on hand to offer mentorship and advice to employees at all levels. They offer guidance and support to internal staff and organise external networking sessions and ‘Women in IT’ events that are open to all.

Women in IT – Events

To directly benefit female graduates seeking to break into the IT industry, FDM hosts periodic ‘Women in IT Advantage Sessions’. These sessions include representatives from key organisations who champion women, such as UKRC South East Hub Manager Veronica Benson. Speaking at the first such event, Benson said, “It’s great to see FDM Group taking positive action to attract more women into the IT industry. Holding an introductory session aimed at women is a great way of getting the message across that the IT industry offers great career opportunities for everyone.”
