The Learning Awards recognise outstanding examples of high standards, best practice, innovation and excellence in learning and development. FDM is delighted to have won the bronze award for ‘Training Department of the Year’ and reaching the finalist stage for ‘Staff Development Programme of the Year’.

Company of the Year – Shortlisted
FDM has been shortlisted for the title of ‘Company of the Year’ at this year’s Growing Business Awards. Now in their fourteenth year, the prestigious awards recognise and support the UK’s top entrepreneurs and SMEs in their efforts to grow and develop. The winners of the Growing Business Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony on 14th November 2011.

FDM has been ranked 9th in TheJobCrowd’s Top 50 Companies For Graduates To Work 2011. Unlike other graduate employer rankings, the list is entirely determined by employee experience – rather than factors such as size, sector or marketing budget.
FDM’s average rating was an impressive 8.65/10 securing our spot in the top ten. According to The Job Crowd’s summary on FDM “It would be fair to say that their graduates like working there so much they are almost surprised at how much they enjoy their jobs – “It has exceeded my expectations” is a phrase frequently used by our reviewers.”

FDM has been shortlisted as a finalist in the categories of IT Employer of the Year and IT Supplier of the Year for the UK IT Industry Awards 2011.
The annual awards are the benchmark for excellence throughout the IT industry and FDM is up against major competitors such as Dell, IBM and Accenture within the two categories.

Southeast Regional Winner 2011
FDM has achieved the accolade for ‘International Impact Management Team of the Year’ in the Southeast region. The BVCA Portfolio Company Awards 2011 are designed to recognise the positive impact of private equity and venture capital-backed companies and to celebrate the achievements of the management teams that create, nurture and lead them. FDM won the award due to the leadership demonstrated in unlocking value and contributing to the development and success of the businesses on an international scale.

Fastest Growing Companies in Europe – 11th Place
Europe’s 500 has been selecting and publishing the list of the top 500 growth entrepreneurs in Europe since 1996, awarding companies for their outstanding achievements in generating sustainable growth and jobs. In 2010, FDM secured 11th place in Europe’s 500 fastest growing companies league table, honoured by Gerhard Schröder (former Chancellor of Germany).

Best Graduate Training Programme – Highly Commended
FDM was crowned ‘Best Technical Graduate Recruiter’ at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards in October 2010. FDM was also highly commended for ‘Best Graduate Training Programme’ due to the excellent career opportunities offered to graduates through the academy programme.

FDM was a finalist at the Growing Business Awards for the top category of ‘Company of the Year’. This award recognises our overall success as a growing business. The judges include well known entrepreneurs such as James Caan (one of the dragons in Dragons Den), Simon Calver (CEO of LOVEFiLM) and Sir Andrew Cahn (CEO of UKTI).

Training Department of the Year – Silver Winner
FDM Group triumphed at the IT Training Awards yet again in 2010, and was named silver winner for ‘Training Department of the Year’. FDM demonstrated consistent high quality and innovation, which is key to winning the award. This is what the judges from Pardo Fox, Corollis and the IITT had to say:

Business Person of the Year – Winner
The Sussex Business Awards celebrated their 21st year at The Grand Hotel on Friday 6th November 2009 and for the first time in over a decade; the same company won 3 awards. Yes that’s right, FDM was crowned ‘International Business of the Year’, ‘Best Employer in Sussex’ and FDM’s CEO (Rod Flavell) achieved the prestigious status of ‘Business Person of the Year’. Once again, FDM exceeded expectations in what really was, a truly important evening for all businesses throughout Sussex.
