Events Team 2010 Update

Written by: Louise - Senior Academy Events Consultant

So the first year of the Graduate Events Team at FDM has come to an end, what a year 2010 has been! We have recruited over 530 graduates to the programme and travelled around the UK twice over. We are also currently in the process of building relationships with universities across both the tri-state area of the US and Germany. In November we were recognised at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards as ‘Best Technical Graduate Recruiter‘. In addition, we were highly commended for ‘Best Graduate Training Programme’ due to the excellent career opportunities that FDM offers graduates through the Academy Programme.

In this year we have delivered over 75 employability workshops, attended over 50 careers fairs and met with over 110 universities within the UK. We are now on first name terms with most of the staff on Virgin, Northeast, Western and Southern Railways. We are also going to be on Mastermind answering questions on “how to work the shower without getting your hair wet” at Premier Inns, Ibis, Ramada and Jury’s Inn hotels!

It has been a great year for FDM’s newest department to grow and develop; our plans for 2011 are looking even more exciting. We will be running the new 1 day assessment stage at FDM across the UK, Europe and the US. Also, we now have our new Student Brand Manager initiative to promote FDM on University Campuses across the UK. In addition to this there will be plenty more events, fairs, workshops and meetings to organise and run.

Bring on 2011!

  2. What a year 2010 had been at FDM, I wish you more success for 2011.

As the global economy gravitate towards a knowledge-based one, an academy like FDM in my opinion is a perfect incubator for the professionals needed to uphold its course. Thats why the Best Technical Graduate Recruiter award is not the peak achievement in my opinion.

The sheer energy dedicated to human network in both technical and social sphere shones a high prospect for any potential participant.
I look forward to being part of this positive drive in 2011.
    Yea, Bring on 2011!
