2011 has been another promising year for FDM group, with its continuous dedication to provide quality training and recognised practical experience in IT, it has successfully launched circa 700 IT careers in this year alone. The IT Services firm was also shortlisted as a finalist at the Learning Awards, competing in two categories: Staff Development Programme of the Year and Training Department of the Year and was nominated for the title of Company of the Year at this year’s Growing Business Awards, FDM is indeed the UK’s Largest IT employer!
FDM’s commitment to maintaining a holistic approach of effective communication, sharing knowledge and empowerment to staff members, allowed the business to establish a learning organisation. Both internal and external staff members are driven to work cohesively with positive synergies to reach the main goal of the business ‘To inspire, motivate and facilitate the careers of tomorrow’s global IT professionals’. FDM’s events team have visited over 56 university careers fairs and employability events since October, to raise brand awareness, build FDM’s profile and promote the award winning IT Graduate Academy Programme.
FDM’s Student Brand Manager programme has also been successful for reaching the targeted audiences. Student brand managers cooperate with the events team to further promote FDM on campus. We act as the eyes and mouths of the firm to give a broad comprehension of the different roles available, the career opportunities, skills and requirements needed and the benefits of the programme. I am one of the Student Brand Managers hired in 2011 at Kingston University and I have seen a continuous improvement in FDM’s promotional initiatives; liaising with careers service, academics, organising drop in sessions, attending careers events, giving out leaflets, putting up posters and targeting key areas in Kingston University e.g. LRC, canteen, Student Union shop, Sopwith Building, and lab session rooms. Such initiatives are implemented by SBMs to promote FDM to the IT students effectively.
2011 has undeniably been a successful year for FDM, with its continuous development and efforts, increasing brand awareness and reaching broader audiences. Look out for the SBM and FDM representatives coming to your campus for next year’s campaign.
